Self-Reflection and Self- Awareness:

Every self-development starts with self-reflection and self-awareness. One needs to be aware of what’s happening in their life. But the question is how can one be aware of what’s happening.

To make it more interesting ask yourself AM I AWARE OF MYSELF?

Questions:

When you ask this question to yourself: You can get more help from these multiple questions such as:

How am I living?

Am I doing the things I want to do?

What do I want?

Am I taking any actions to get what I want?

Am I focused enough to reach where I want?

And many such questions which will help you to reflect on yourself.

Little philosophical:

Just imagine what would happen if people on this planet earth started their self-reflection and self-awareness journey? Would they waste their time or will they use the time for something gainful?

.

Will they complain or be grateful for what they have?

.

People say they don’t have 10 minutes to reflect and be aware of themselves but they are ready to watch Netflix and scroll Instagram for hours.

.

We all are filled with choices.

.

People who succeed always choose better. They will take the hard route now so that they can enjoy the view at the top later on.

.

They lead their game of self-reflection and self-awareness

.

The pre-stage of choice is always awareness and self-belief.

.

Because with better awareness comes better choices and with better choices comes better results.

.

The better you know about yourselves, the better choices you will opt for and with better consistent choices you will get the results you want.

.

The best things in this world have depth. Majority of the people are stuck in the superficiality but the best in the world are profound in what they do.

.

I want you all to go in-depth. I want you to ask some deep meaningful questions which will change your actions and beliefs. Go into the details. Ask why why why to yourself. 95% of the people on this planet do not know who they are. What magic they have. They are unaware of the magic they have.

.

I want you to become aware of yourselves so that you know you are magical.

.

To help you better, I would like you to do 2 activities today. These activities will help you gain more clarity of what’s happening in your life and it will help you to know you better.

.

Okay! So, The first activity is called The Habit Scorecard. I learned this from James Clear the author of the book Atomic Habits. This habit will help you to enhance your self-reflection and self-awareness game.

.

Now I want you to grab a pen and a diary or a book and write down all the activities which you do right after you wake up till the time you go back to bed. Remember you have to write your daily habits and activities right after you wake up till the time you go back to bed.

.

For example, This is what I do right after I wake up:

.

I meditate, right after I wake up

.

brush my teeth,

write down the to-do-list,

.

Then work etc etc

.

And lastly, I meditate for 20 mins.

.

I want you to write about your average day.

.

After writing this I want you to look at the list and mark + for a positive activity for example exercising is a positive habit so I want you to put a + mark in front of exercise.

.

Checking phone constantly is a habit that is not so useful unless you don’t have any work which requires you to check your phone constantly.

.

So I want you to put a – minus mark in front of it.

.

And a neutral activity is like sleeping, brushing, bathing, so I want you to put a = equal mark in front of it.

.

Remember, no habit is negative. They are just habits which you do regularly. We just have to eliminate the habits which are not fruitful for us.

.

.

Why am I telling you to do this is because. I want you to be aware of your activities and this is just like knowing 50% of yourselves.  Because we are what we repeatedly do. And by knowing this you are halfway there to know yourselves.

.

Now, the second activity I want you to do is:

Write down your strengths and weaknesses.

.

Yes, you heard it right to write down your strengths and weaknesses.

.

I really, really, really believe the things that’s holding people back…is the romantic version of who they think they want to be or who they think they are vs. who they are”… Just do not lie to yourselves.

.

Write down your strength and weaknesses. If you need assistance ask your friend to help you out and figure it out.

 .

Be such a positive person that when you write down your strengths and weakness you accept them. 

.

Do not hesitate at all.

.

Self-awareness requires understanding both of them and then choosing which path do you want to go through. I personally believe going all in under strengths and give a damn about what I suck at.

.

Because self-awareness isn’t just about betting under strengths but also accepting your shortcomings.

.

During this analysis of yourselves. Do not compare yourselves with anyone.

.

You are different from the other people around you.

.

What works for you might not work for the other person and what works for him might not work for you.

.

Being at peace with yourselves and your skills set is an important part of this journey.

.

Let people do whatever they want. You stick to your DNA.

.

All your shortcomings are there for a reason. They are also there to allow you to be great.

.

You have to audit yourselves. You have to audit to know who you actually are.

.

Because then you aren’t going to lie to yourselves. You are going to push yourselves, motivate yourselves but not lie to yourselves.

.

And then accept your shortcomings and accentuate your strengths.

.

Self-awareness is a vast topic. And this what we did is a part of it.

.

It’s just a reflection.

.

Remember, better daily awareness leads to better daily choices, then better daily choices lead to better daily actions, better actions when done consistently leads to better results.

.

I’d simply encourage you to reflect on yourselves as much as you can.

.

Maybe weekly or monthly.

.

Try to improve yourselves once you know what are your strengths, weaknesses, and activities are.

.

Try to put measurements in the things you do. Because the things that get measured gets improved.

Please note that I am not an expert. I am trying to share what I learn and I know about the greatest people on the planet.

Now, Let’s do a recap of the 2 activities which we discussed.

1st Write down a list of all the activities which you do daily. Then mark + for a positive habit, – for a negative habit, and an equal for a neutral habit.

.

 Analyze the list, and figure out how many good, bad, and neutral habits you have. I have 12 good habits, 4 bad habits, and 5 neutral habits.

.

2nd activity was writing down your strengths and weaknesses. And then playing under your strengths or weaknesses.

..

By doing these two activities we just tried to enhance our self-reflection, self-awareness ,and reflect on our daily activities so that we can fine-tune them.
