THE ART OF SMALL WINS
THE ART OF SMALL WINS– Angelo Henry
While this is not a new concept, I find that this is important during the time we are in. The art of celebrating small wins is called so because it is exactly as it is coined, celebrating small wins.
It is a mindset, it is an attitude and is at the cornerstone of so many success stories.
For any goal to be achieved one can use this concept to break them down into many small goals or objectives. Let me elaborate on a few ways this can be used in specific scenarios.
To have a productive day, setting yourself up small achievable targets is a great way to boost your self-confidence, self-esteem and morale. Which will then set you up for bigger things during the day?
I often set myself small targets like having a nutritious breakfast in the morning or tidying up my bed and achieving small targets like this sets me up to smash other bigger goals during the day.
While I am in no position to give you gym advice, (You should ask Manish if you do have questions) setting yourself small achievable targets and breaking down your goals is something any fitness expert will tell you is essential.
The boost this will give you and what you can achieve after using small wins is immeasurable. Setting yourself targets like 10 minutes of exercise a day and achieving it, will help you build on to this.
Scheduling your work with completing small easy tasks at the beginning of the day and then building up to the bigger things as the day progresses is something I encourage you all to try.
This will often help you get jobs done quicker and without breaking as much sweat as you’ll bring the number of tasks down quicker and then be with relatively fewer tasks to complete towards the end of the day and this is when most of us face lower productivity anyways.
No matter what your goal may be, setting yourself small achievable goals, like putting aside a small sum of money every week towards your savings or investment and then achieving it, will only fuel your desire to save up more money.
While some may say there is not much to be happy about now, I say there is much to be happy about.
Just being grateful for the smallest things in life will set you up to find happiness in every season and circumstance of life.
Instead of changing the situation around us, if we change how we perceive it, will be far more effective in countering any situation instead of the vice versa.
Some other points to know-
The art of celebrating small wins is in no way to encourage mediocrity. It is to encourage growth, motivate and push you forward.
To go somewhere big you got to start someplace small. Finally, let me admit that writing this article today is a big win for me, the number of small wins I had during the day has definitely helped me get here.
